ABOUT

THE HISTORY

The Burton family tradition of growing quality Noble Fir Christmas trees began in 1949 when Howard’s father Charley planted his first Noble Fir trees.  Charley was a pioneer in the Christmas tree farming industry planting the Northwest’s first Noble Fir tree seedlings at what remains Burton’s home farm. Howard and Kay Burton took over the farm from their parents Charley and Dorothy in 1999.

THE FARM

The Burton Christmas Tree Farm is located 12 miles west of Morton, Washington about half way between Seattle and Portland. The Burtons plant, grow, harvest and ship their products to nurseries, lot owners and retailers throughout the Western United States.

THE TREES

We grow nursery-quality Noble Firs, Blue Nobles and Grand Firs. The trees are hand cultured by picking the ends off in the spring for shaping. This gives the trees character and makes them a little less full leaving more room for ornaments. The Burton’s specialty tree is a natural Noble Fir grafted from trees selected for their color, shape and disease resistant quality.
